{Travel Photography} Chasing The Light, a Circular Polarizer, and Quoting Rumi

The wound is the place where the light enters you- Rumi

I am a photographer, artist, storyteller, chaser of maladies and light …. Always the light. I am enamored at the way light changes and paints the beauty of this world whether landscape, still life, or when it helps me capture stories of love that binds souls together. I am enamored with the power of light and the power of transformation it holds. Light to me is hope, faith, and a promise of what is yet to come. Light, as it dances and twirls creating different emotions within our souls. The light as it tells a story in San Diego California that is so different than in Kauai, and so different in Sydney Australia. So be not afraid and chase the light. Follow your wanderlust. Be the light. Be fearless. Fall down, get back up and let the light in.  For as Rumi says:

“The wound is the place where the light enters you”

These photographs were captured in Poipu, Kauai. I was walking around near the beach and looked up and saw this burst of color. I happened to be wearing my polarized sunglasses that tend to show true incredible color. I ran back to my car, got my canon 70-200 f 2.8 and my circular polarizer filter and captured these images. Within minutes this beautiful phenomenon was but a memory in my camera and light in my soul.
